I’m a children’s book writer-in-the-making with a head full of stories, a heart full of wonder, and a sink usually full of dishes. That’s actually not true, my anxiety doesn’t let those sit for more than a few hours. How about “…and a fridge full of slowing decaying vegetables”.

I spent over 15 years in the tech space working on talent strategy. I've always been an avid reader, devouring fantasy and historical fiction books on a bi-weekly basis while the idea of writing for kids lived quietly in the back of my mind… until one very real mom moment flipped the switch.

One day, elbow deep in bubbles (the dish kind, not the fun kind), my two year old asked me to play. To make a long story short, I said no. She wandered off, and I cried. When did my to-do list become more important than play? That question became the idea behind The Place Where Laughter Lives a story, and a journey, that’s still unfolding.

Now, I’m writing stories that empower kids, especially girls, to be the heroes of their own adventures. Stories filled with imagination, bravery, and self-discovery. But they’re not just for the kids, they’re inspired by the messy, beautiful, real-life experience of being a mom. Because between the pressure to “do it all,” and the quiet tug of mom guilt (are you all in therapy too?), we’re all navigating our own epic journeys. These stories are my way of reminding us moms of our power, and making sure our daughters believe in their own, specifically The True Love Kind.
